FLY NIKI company or Niki Luftfahrt GmbH was founded in 2003 as a low-cost airliner with HQ in Vienna on
Vienna International Airport (VIE) when former Formula 1 driver Niki Lauda acquired Aero Lloyd Austria company. Is started its operations on November 28th 2003. German company Air Berlin (second largest, after national airline Lufthansa) announced on January 19th 2010 that it acquired 25.9% of Fly Niki actions, and with 24% it owned before, it now holds 49.9% shares of the company. This event is the first joint operation of two low cost airliners in Europe. Integration with Russian airliner S7 Airlines is also planned.
Niki Fly company has transported ~2.6 millions of passengers in 2009, and starting February 1st 2010 flies on relations to and from Belgrade to Berlin, Copenhagen, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Innsbruck, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Munich, Münster, Nice, Nuremberg, Paris, Rome, Sofia, Vienna and Zurich. First flight from Belgrade to Vienna was piloted by Niki Lauda himself.

Niki Fly fleet counts 2 Airbus A321 (212 seats) airplanes, 6 Airbus A320 (180 seats), 2 Airbus A319 (150 seats) and 2 Embraer R 190 (104 seats) airplames. Average age in fleet is 3 years. The fact that every plane is named after music/dance type is interesting. The company has 450 employees in early 2010, and 2009 was a successful year - sixth in a row, with profits 76% bigger than ones recorded in 2008.

Most of low cost flight to and from Serbia is in Saver fare that means that you can't refund your ticket, but you can rebook another flight with all fixed expenses and taxes being subtracted from the amount you paid. Price of Belgrade - Vienna flight is €29 per adult.
You are allowed to carry (free of charge) one bag up to 20kg per person on the airplane. You can also carry one bag up to 6kg (8kg with a laptop) and not bigger than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm to the cabin. All medical, fragile and perishable goods should be carried into the cabin, and all EU regulations apply - ie. all liquids must be packed in transparent bottles no bigger than 100ml each, and all bottles should be wrapped up in a transparent plastic bag with volume no bigger than 1 liter. You can't carry dangerous materials, weapons or anything other that might inflict injury. All extra luggage is charged with rate of 10€ per kilogram for flights shorter than 3000 miles and 20€ per kilogram for long distance flights. It is also possible to travel with pets.
