Mistral Air is Italian low-cost airline based in Rome. The company was established in 1981 as a cargo and charter passenger airline. The first low-cost flight under the company’s name took off in 2007.

However, Mistrai Airl still operates scheduled cargo services on behalf of TNT Global Express and Poste Italiane.

Mistral Air base is at Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport, while the hub is at Bologna Airport.

In 2007, Vatican hired Mistral Air to carry Pilgrims to holy sites such as Lourdes, Fátima, Santiago de Compostela, Israel (Holy Land), Poland and Mexico.

Mistral Air has a fleet of one ATR 42-300 airplane, four Boeing 737-300QC and three Boeing 737-400. The average age of Mistral Air aircrafts is 22.1 years.

Mistral air flies to about 30 destinations in eight countries. While the company has flights to Bosnia, Croatia, Egypt, Russia, Spain, Greece and France, most of its destinations are based in Italy.

Mistral Air briefly operated between Nis in Serbia and Trieste in Italy in spring of 2013.
